B&L Attorneys Receive Publication Award from ABI

On Friday, October 14, 2011, Partner Alane Becket and Associate William McNeal received special publication awards from the American Bankruptcy Institute at a luncheon held during the 85th Annual National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. The awards were given in recognition of their extensive efforts on the recently revised edition of the ABI treatise Consumer Bankruptcy: Fundamentals of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code (3d. Edition).

Among other things, this revised edition covers the fundamentals of consumer bankruptcy proceedings under chapters 7 and 13 of the Code, including updated information on the changes in the law since BAPCPA. Moreover, it includes important information on today's most litigated questions, such as issues surrounding applicable commitment periods in chapter 13 plans, projected disposable income, case conversion and exemptions. Finally, the book provides critical analyses of several new U.S. Supreme Court decisions, including Lanning, Ransom, Espinosa and Milavetz.
